Who is the conference for?
This conference is for anyone across the UK who wants to better understand what can be done in local places to tackle poverty and boost household incomes.
This includes:
- public sector and local and regional authorities
- voluntary sector
- businesses and private sector
- policymakers
- academics and researchers.
Where is the conference?
The conference will be held at Manchester Hall, 36 Bridge Street, Manchester M3 3BT. You can learn more about how to access the venue via public transport or car on the Manchester Hall website.
How do I sponsor the conference?
We offer a range of sponsorship opportunities for organisations of all sizes. Download our sponsorship brochure to explore options or book a 30-minute meeting with us to discuss.
What will the agenda look like?
Registration will open at 9:30am and the conference will run 10am-4:30pm. There will be a mixture of talks, activities and workshops and time to network, with resources shared after the conference. There will then be the opportunity to join our post-event networking drinks, which will run until 6pm.
What topics will be covered?
Some of the workshop/talk topics will include:
- Role of localities in tackling poverty
- Poverty and refugees, migrants and people seeking asylum
- A new national child poverty strategy and what it means for you
- Health inequalities and the role of the health system in tackling poverty
- Realising the potential of local welfare provision
- Ethical and effective lived experience engagement.
What does the ticket include?
Your ticket includes:
- Access to all talks and breakout sessions
- Resource pack
- Refreshments of tea, coffee and water throughout the day
- A buffet lunch
- Post-event drinks and networking.
How did you decide the ticket price?
The cost of your ticket pays for: speakers expenses, venue, tech hire, catering, printed materials and our photographer. We have a range of pricing options to try and ensure that we aren’t pricing out those organisations that cannot afford a full price ticket.
What if I can't afford to pay for a ticket?
A select number of free tickets will be available to book from January. These will be reserved for micro-organisations and individuals who cannot afford to pay. Check back in the New Year for more information.
Is the conference venue accessible?

Are there hotels near to the conference venue?
Yes. If you’re travelling from further afield and need to stay at a hotel, there are several affordable options close to the conference venue:
